Courses we run

We run several courses throughout the year across both sites of the church.

They include:

The Marriage Course

Based on the Marriage Course form Holy Trinity Brompton. For couples who have been married for a couple of years or more. Over seven sessions of the course you will discover practical tools to help you:

- understand each other’s needs
- communicate more effectively
- grow closer through resolving conflict
- heal the ways you’ve hurt each other
- recognise how your upbringing affects your relationship
- improve relationships with parents and in-laws
- develop greater sexual intimacy
- discover each other’s love languages and much, much more!

The Marriage Preparation Course

Based on the Marriage Preparation Course from Holy Trinity Brompton. Over five sessions of the course you will discover practical tools to help you build the foundations for a lasting marriage. You will look at:

- the importance of commitment
- how to recognise and appreciate your differences
- the art of communication
- resolving conflict
- the importance of spending time together and nurturing your friendship
- making each other feel loved
- developing a good sexual relationship
- the importance of talking about your goals, values and dreams

Alpha - a chance to explore the meaning of life

The whole course usually lasts for 10 weeks, with a day or weekend away in the middle.

Each session begins with refreshments and a chance to get to know others in the small group. There is then a short talk, which looks at a different aspect of the Christian faith each week. This is followed by a time of discussion in the small groups, where everyone is welcome to contribute their opinion, ask questions and discuss with the rest of the group.

The emphasis is upon exploration and discovery in a relaxed and informal environment.

Time for Family

The course is for any parent with children up to the age of 10. The course, while based on Christian principles, is relevant and helpful for any parent with or without a Christian faith or church background.

Topics covered include:

- Building strong foundations
- Love in action
- Setting boundaries
- Building character
- Our long term aim as a family
