ALPHA COURSE – continues on Thursdays at 8pm
The Alpha Course explores the meaning of life in a relaxed, informal atmosphere.  No questions barred!  A chance to explore the Christian faith in a no pressure way.

Joint-whole church gathering at St Thomas' Philadelphia May 18th
As part of our commitment to operating as one-church on multiple sites, we're gathering the whole of KC and St Thomas' Philadelphia together for a joint-service. The last one was Sept 07, so its about time!
The speaker this Sunday is Andy Hawthorne and others from the Message Trust in Manchester, who are committed to seeing urban communities transformed by the power of the gospel in their midst. Come to hear and get envisioned to reach our city, and specifically about a new project Eden Arbourthorne - to see Arbourthorne radically transformed for Christ.

The Big Dress Festival 8th-12 May, Endcliffe Park.
As part of Hope 08, SPEAK are bringing the Worlds Biggest Dress to Sheffield- A large tent made up of a patchwork of petitions to government and multinational companies around making themselves accountable for their workers and the environment. The 5 days include live music and DJs, a Family day and worship & campaign day. Volunteers needed - contact Tim Blundell Jones on 07729208817.

Form Access
As well as our long running Form and Form 2 training years we are starting a new year-long course in September 2008. Form Access is for anyone of any age who wants to grow in character and maturity within a context of mission or ministry. Trainees will have access to form teaching through a purpose built website and take part in huddles and retreats throughout the year. We want you to be
transformed: trained and released to serve God in the places He is calling you.

GLOBAL DAY OF PRAYER
11th May 2008 is a very special day, it is the Global Day of Prayer on Pentecost Sunday. Millions of Christians across the globe will unite and join in this yearly event, the largest 24 hour prayer meeting the world has ever known.  There will be an opportunity in Sheffield for Christians from all denominations to gather together and join in prayer for our neighbourhood, city, nation and world.  Don't miss this extra-ordinary opportunity.  Time: 7.00pm
Venue: Victory Assembly at 99 St John Street, off Bramall Lane (former Just for Kids).

24-7 Prayer 18th-25th May, Philadelphia Studio.
We will be holding another week of 24-7 Prayer. Come with a few friends or bring your cell or small group and spend an hour or more with God. Dads and Kids group (only children under 5) from 10 – 11.30am in the Play Time Centre at St Thomas’, Philadelphia Campus.  Come and have a great time with other dads and kids in a Mum-free zone!  Pick up a leaflet in the foyer. Overseas Mission Partner
At the recent Church weekend away we were joined by Alison Kennedy, one of our mission partners currently working in China. Alison spoke about her work and for those who would like to support her here's how - if you want to support Alison financially please contact Alison King for details (or contact the church office). If you would like to sponsor a child in one of the orphanages it costs £21 per month - please contact Helen Kay for details. And - a date for the diary - on 13th September there will be another 'walk the wall' event (10km) to raise money for the work in China. Keep an eye out in the notices for details or chat to Helen Kay.

Soaking at KC –
Sunday 18th May from 3pm - “Resting in the Presence of God. Encountering the Father’s Love for us”.Spend some time going “Deeper with God” as we worship, listen to soaking music and focus on Jesus.  You may like to bring a pillow and blanket to lie on or just sit in a chair. Children of Freedom Conference Friday 4th July, 7.30pm - Saturday 5th July, 9.30am-4.30pm.
Releasing people to be all that our Father God intends us to be. For all men and women struggling with issues of identity, addiction, temptation and relationships, and for those ministering in these areas. Randall Staley is coordinator of a Living Waters program at All Saints, Woodford Wells, and part of Lin Buttons Healing Prayer School. He is an experienced teacher and prayer minister.
