Small Groups and Missional Communities
There are a wide variety of small groups and missional communities that we encourage every adult in King's Centre to be part of if possible. These are varied in style and you are welcome to try them out until you find one you like - no commitment and no pressure to join!
We believe real community is an essential building block of the church. Communities are also a place where together we can bless and serve our city. It’s a place where we can be known, supported and challenged to go deeper in our relationship with each other and to grow as disciples of Jesus.
We believe that church isn’t just about ‘consuming’ a service every Sunday, but about living out a genuine faith amongst ordinary people both inside and outside the church – we can’t live it alone! We believe real community is a great way for individuals to get to know people within the church, and is the best forum for ongoing discipleship and personal growth. It also provides real opportunity to live out or discover our God-given calling and to engage in mission to our city. To help us in this, we currently have 8 communities of different shapes and sizes across the church.
These ‘missional communities’ are generally made up of between 6 and 30 people (plus any number of accompanying children). They are communities of people who find they have a similar heart, focus, or calling in life. These are as varied as the people of Sheffield themselves – including communities reaching out to students, families, the elderly, local neighbourhoods and more. These are based across the city and details of each can be found by following the links below:
